Twentieth-century electrical grids were built for one-way power flow (from a coal plant to a house). They are mathematically incapable of handling the chaotic, bi-directional energy flow created when millions of residential homes try to sell their excess rooftop solar power back to the grid simultaneously.
"Range anxiety" is the number one reason consumers refuse to buy electric vehicles. Without a massive, interconnected network of fast-charging stations across highways and city streets, long-distance EV travel remains highly stressful and impractical.
